Products

Soon we will offer these products on-line. Frozen items would be very expensive to ship. The dehydrated products are less weight and volume and do not require refrigerated transport. You are responsible for all shipping costs.

Our primary product is dehydrated cherries. They are available in 60 gram, 100 gram and 500 gram bags (plastic ZipLoc-type bags that are heat sealed and resealable). All our products limit the ingredients to one ingredient; sour cherries. We do not add anything to them.

In today's world "shelf life" requires preservatives and additives to extend a products life on the shelf. But stomachs still need to digest them. Sour cherries need to be harvested, pitted, and stabilized (frozen) as quickly as possible. That is why you do not commonly see them fresh in the marketplace. Dehydrated products avoid that by limiting the growth of pathogens and if stored properly can have a shelf life of years. We would like to sell you sugar and water that would increase weight and plumpness but that is for others.

One of the constraints of such products is that we ask you to creatively cook...a lost art in our fast, microwavable world. Visit our recipe area to find inspiration for new foods. Your reward is the healthy and natural foods you will create.

Cherry Jelly - 244 ml (just under one cup)
The jelly is made from the juice we drain off before dehydrating. We do not press the cherries to extract the juice. Anytime you process a product you may have several ingredients...we keep that to a minimum. For example, we have to add some sugar but use less than one third in our recipe. Even the pectin is reduced. And no other perservatives are added.
Once a jar is opened (you should hear a "pop" as it is vacuum sealed. I you don't, return it. The seal has been broken.) refrigerate the jar.

It is normal for the jelly to "weep" or you may see some liquid on top. We reduce the added sugar and pectin and therefore weeping is normal. The reduced sugar and pectin is a compromise to make the jelly easily spreadable. Use the juice along with the jelly.

Our suggested retail price is $6.73 but we know of Saskatchewan stores selling it for as little as $5.99.
